When I still thought we'd be snowed in for the pre-holiday, I started compiling some of my favorite Christmas things to get me through the stretch! Even though we are in the clear here, I figured it couldn't hurt to share some of these with everyone else, just in case you weren't as "lucky" and are still stuck inside keeping warm! :)
Favorite Classic Christmas Movies:
It's A Wonderful Life (1946), the true Christmas classic. It never fails to put life in perspective, and how truly wonderful it really is.

We're No Angels (1955), three convicts escape from prison with plans to take advantage of a kind family willing to take them in for the holidays... Little do they know that they soon will care so much about the family that they change their ways, at least a little bit. :)

White Christmas (1954), everyone's favorite holiday musical. How can it not make the list?! No holiday season is complete without watching it once (or maybe twice, lol).

Favorite Christmas Pandora Playlist:
She & Him (Holiday)
Here are some of my favorite tracks you will hear on the playlist... So mellow and lovely, I can listen to it for hours on end. :)
She & Him - Christmas Waltz
Coldplay- Christmas Lights
Jack Johnson - Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
Favorite Christmas Cookie Recipe:
Czechoslovakian Kolache Cookies
These are one of my absolute favorite holiday cookies! They are flaky and delicious with a fruit filling and a tasty almond glaze... Here is a link to the recipe we used this year, it was pretty easy and turned out so delicious!
Favorite New Holiday Drink:
Mulled Wine
It is hard to think of anything more classic than a mulled wine... I have wanted to try it for quite a few Christmas's now and after seeing A Beautiful Mess try it, I decided to do a little research of my own and find a recipe I loved! I ended up following this recipe and it was so tasty and delicious! (tip: I used honey instead of sugar and I highly recommend it!)
Favorite Easy Christmas Craft Ideas:
For easy craft ideas, Martha is always the best bet! So I scoured her site looking for cute ideas to keep the family occupied while it snowed (or didn't snow) outside!
This cute Pin-Up Wreath is the perfect way to display some of those memories you have collected over the years! Whether it be old family photos, Christmas cards, or even some classic advertisements that remind us of the magic of Christmas time as a child!
I am always a fan of the classic tree decorations and Garlands! Stringing cranberries or popcorn on the tree gives the whole holiday a very cozy and homey feel I think! When I have my own tree someday perhaps I will give this one a go!
Finally, in honor of one of my Mom's favorite Christmas movies, these little Drum Ornaments are so charming! What a cute idea as far as a holiday display or tree ornaments! These are definitely on my to-do list for next year! :)
And with that, I hope everyone is toasty warm and getting ready for Christmas this week! There are only 3 shopping days left so I hope you are getting your wrapping done and are ready to celebrate! So much happiness in the air this weekend!!
Wishing you a lovely little (holiday) weekend!

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I have never seen any of those movies. I need to! We're more of a "A Christmas Story" family over here.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the hoop idea for displaying Christmas cards. This year we did the ribbon on the cupboards idea and I like the hoops one better!
Thanks for sharing some Christmas love!
