An Outfit Post: Florals in Winter

I don't know about where you guys are at.. but this weekend in West Michigan the snow buried us! It was quite cold but also, absolutely beautiful! I just love how the fresh snow looks on all of the treetops! So lovely! :)

If you went inside my closet you would find out that I am a big fan of flowers and sundresses... I would say 70% of my wardrobe is summer wear. I can't help it though, summer is my season. Unless it is springtime, then spring is my season... or if it is fall, then fall is my season... But no matter what, I am never in my element in the winter months. lol

I decided to layer one of my summer floral dresses with a cozy thrifted sweater and some sweater tights... At the very least it gave me hope that summer will be on its way soon! :)

As soon as I stepped outside I knew I couldn't get away with taking pictures without my mittens! Too cold!! But actually, I feel like when it is beautiful and snowy, I don't feel as cold. Probably because I am distracted by all of the pretty mountains of snow around me!

I can't get over how pretty it is! But the snow was very deep... as you can see, my boots were covered in snow! When I was walking in the backyard I did my best to hop along in my Dad's foot prints but his strides proved to be much longer than mine haha.

How is winter treating all of you? (Or summer for those of you lucky enough to be on the other side of the globe!) I hope you all had a weekend just as beautiful! :)

Wishing you a lovely little day!

  4. I love the shot of the snow on your legs. It hasn't yet reached below upper 30s here in Seattle, and I wish it would!

  7. You have such a cute porch! My wardrobe is made up of dresses and tank tops, so I guess I'm a summer kind of gal as well. This is definitely the way to go to get some use out of those dresses and add a pop of floral during the winter! I must say, I am a little jealous of that snow! None here in California :(

  14. The snow looks amazing! I've never experienced snow before and I envy all of those who have. I live on a tropical island and I've never been out of here since I was born. One of these days I'll get to witness snow fall and I'll get to play in the snow. One day! :)
