Knitted Winter Headband

I wanted to share a little project that I was working on over Christmas this year! After finding my Grandma's knitting basket, I was newly inspired to start working on something! I have noticed a trend this year with lots of cute ear warming headbands out there so I decided to give it a shot!

First of all, I apologize for my images being a little blurred. There seems to be an issue with my autofocus lately... Which isn't the worst problem I guess, but it makes using a tripod or an inexperienced friend or family member a big problem!

Anyhoo, my brother got me some cute red mittens for Christmas so I made this headband to match! It was very simple, I just did a normal rib stitch (2k, 2p) for the band at the width I wanted with a pair of size 8 needles (this was 22 stitches wide). After that was finished I did the same for the bow, only I used a pair of size 10 needles! This was essentially another band only smaller! The number of stitches was the same and I just went until I felt like the bow would be the right size once the ends were sewn together in a ring!

The final piece to knit was the center of the bow. I went back down to the size 8 needle rib stitch and made it 8 stitches wide. Once it was long enough I wrapped it around the smaller ring to create the look of the bow and attached the ends of the smaller piece.

Lastly I stitched it to the headband where I thought it would look best! And ta-da! Done! Easy as can be! I am sorry for not having a pattern to refer you to, but if you have any questions and want to try it you can always email me! :)

Hope everyone is keeping warm!
