Bird's Nest Jewelry

This week I am busy scampering about the streets of Minneapolis and freezing my little butt off, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to make time for my first love, blogging. Not being able to check my feed for a week is crazy, I suppose I could on my phone but it just isn't the same... It is sad how much no internet access (aside from my trusty iPhone) blows my mind!

Anyways, last week I was cruising around the web and found this little tutorial! Only problem is, I don't speak Spanish {or whatever language this is in}... But it resembled a necklace that I had favorited on Etsy the week before and I figured why not give it a go!

I honestly just followed the pictures that she provided in her post! The only tools you need are copper wire, beads, and jewelry pliers. I am not the most experienced when it comes to working with wire but I was still able to make these in a matter of minutes!

I love birds, so when I saw this necklace I felt like I had to own it.. I was actually contemplating buying a version when I stumbled across the tutorial! It was so simple and basically was just a series of twisting until you got the look you wanted!

I was thinking mine would look too homemade but when I wore it out that night people were asking me where I bought it! Success! I was very pleased with the outcome.

I was so excited about the ring that I decided to make a necklace version too, only I used blue glass pearls so they looked like robin eggs! The necklace is definitely my favorite and I have gotten lots of compliments!

You should go take a look at the original post and see if it is something you would be interested in making! I always love making jewelry so it found me at just the right time...

Also, with the theme of this post, I think it is an appropriate time to reveal my tattoo to you all! The post will be going up tomorrow morning! Pictures, detail shots, and the background story all included! Be sure to come back and check it out! :)

Wishing you all a lovely little day!
